Simple decor is always a favorite for me and I LOVE decorating on the cheap! This Dollar Tree sign caught my eye because I LOVED the shape and style, so I decided to use it to create a farmhouse style photo holder that I could add to any vignette.

First, I’ll remove the handle with beads, then paint the sign front and back with Waverly Plaster chalk paint. I’ll use some Behr wax to darken all the edges of the frame.
Next I’ll attach one of these Tim Holtz clips to the front using E-6000. I’m also adding some Waverly antiquing wax to the clip so it will be brown.
Now, we’re almost finished with this Farmhouse Style Photo Holder. I want this photo holder to stand on its own, so I’ll add three of these wooden spools from Hobby Lobby to the back. I painted each one with the Waverly Plaster.
Simple and pretty decor does not get much easier than this! I love that this sign is neutral so that it can be added anywhere and anytime of year. Add seasonal color and flair with whatever pic or graphic you display. I’d love to know if you give this one a try!!
