Hey there!! If you LOVE simple and easy as much as me, you’ll want to stick around for this DIY. It all starts with Dollar Tree wood planks that can be picked up for $1.25. I’ll finish this Dollar Tree farmhouse style sign with a chipboard “welcome” word that I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby for $1.49!

Supplies I’m Using…
- One package of Dollar Tree Rectangle Wood Planks (Pkg. of 6)
- 2 Gallon Paint Stir Sticks
- “welcome” word (Mine came from Hobby Lobby.)
- White and Black Spray Paint or Acrylic Paint
- Wood Glue
- Command Strips
- E-6000 or other permanent glue

First up I’ll paint the “welcome” word with black spray paint so it can dry while I’m putting the planks together.

Now I’ll need to glue all six planks together with wood glue. I’ll flip the planks over and glue them, making sure to wipe away any excess. Once they are glued I’ll glue the two paint stir sticks to the back. Hot glue can be used as well as the wood glue if desired. This will give you an immediate hold with the hot glue and a more permanent hold once the wood glue dries.

When I flip the sign over I’ll be sure to wipe away any excess wood glue from the front. If it is too dry you can sand the excess away with a sanding block before painting. I’ll be using flat white spray paint.

Once the spray paint is completely dry I’ll use the E-6000 to attach the “welcome” word to the sign.

When everything is glued and dry this easy Dollar Tree farmhouse style sign project is finished!! It’s very light weight so I’ll use Command Strips to hang! What do you think about this simple and easy project? If you enjoyed this easy make-over I’ll think you like this one too!!
