The Christmas season is my favorite time of year, but it can get hectic AND expensive if you don’t plan ahead. One of my favorite tricks is to take an inexpensive ornament and give it a simple make-over for gifting, or even to use for yourself. There are so many options for this Dollar General Christmas ornament and the make-over is quick and easy!

Here’s our sweet $1.00 ornament from Dollar General. It’s pretty cute as is, but we’ll make a couple quick changes!

I have something different in mind for the bow, so I’ll heat the glue with my heat gun and remove this one.

I picked up this ribbon on clearance and I think it gives a nice pop of color to the ornament. Let’s add one more thing and then the make-over is complete. Told you it would be quick and easy!!

Now I’m using a piece of card stock and just stamping “Merry Christmas” with some red ink. Cut it out. and then attach to the wood wreath with a dab of hot glue to complete this Dollar General Christmas ornament make-over.

There are so many fun options for stamping! The sky is the limit since you can stamp your favorite holiday message.

And that’s it! A simple and pretty ornament to share or keep for yourself! If you have a large number of ornaments you need to make this would be perfect since it’s quick and cost effective. This ornament could also be personalized by stamping names instead of Merry Christmas. I love to share budget friendly and easy DIYs, especially for the holidays. Let me know what you think!!
