There’s something exciting to me about repurposing something that was headed for the trash into something useful. I have several old canning rings that are rusty and really should have been thrown away a while back….but thankfully I like to hold onto things longer than I should! These rusty pieces will be perfect for the recycled canning ring candle wreath that I have in mind to create!

So, they say necessity is the mother of invention….or something like that and that’s exactly what happened here. I have a pretty white candle that I wanted greenery to surround, but no matter how much I tucked and molded the greenery around the candle it just wouldn’t stay. It just so happened that I opened my drawer with all my plastic and canning lids and spotted one of my old canning rings. I thought is just might work for what I needed and I was right!
Supplies Needed
- Canning Ring
- Favorite Greenery
- Hot Glue

Once you have the few supplies gathered this is a quick project! I’ll work with small sections of the greenery and just start hot gluing the sections around the ring until I get full coverage. I highly recommend finger protectors if you have them to prevent finger burns.

Now I’m ready to sit the candle down into the ring. I’m using a medium sized candle but I could use a larger canning ring for bigger candles.

This is such an EASY hack and holds my greenery in place perfectly! I’d love to know if you were inspired to try this one and how it works for you.
