I LOVE fun and whimsical for Christmas, and the Dollar Tree metal bottle cap is perfect to create a fun gingerbread piece! I’m using this versatile find to create a fun Dollar Tree bottle cap gingerbread man that will work perfectly with my kitchen gingerbread decor.
First we need to paint the metal bottle cap with my favorite gingerbread color, Deco Art Honey Brown. I used two coats, allowing dry time in between coats.
Now I want to add a wavy line all the way around the center of the metal cap to look like a gingerbread man. You can paint this, but I’m choosing to add rick rack.
Slowly add the rick rack by gluing it around the inside edge. I left a small gap but I can easily cover that with glitter later.
Next, let’s add a face to this Dollar Tree bottle cap gingerbread man using black, pink, red, and white paint.
Finally, when the paint is dry let’s add some Mod Podge and glitter.
Now we’ll add a bow.
Lastly, I want to hang this piece so I’m adding a piece of jute string back to it.
