It’s getting warmer outside and I’m adding to my summer decor. I LOVE the mini book stacks that are so popular right now and I think I need one for every season!! The issue is I can’t always find small books the same size that will work, and I don’t always have time to cut wood pieces down. Good new though!! I found a solution at Dollar Tree for $1.25!! Come see how easy it is to create this easy Dollar Tree mini crate summer DIY!

What I’m Using…
- Dollar Tree Mini Crate
- Dollar Tree Stamps
- Acrylic Stamping Block
- Anita’s Acrylic Paint (Fuschia, white)
- Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint (Aquamarine)
- Torn Material Strips
- Black Ink Pad
- Hot Glue
First off I’m going to paint the crate all the way around, using the three sections on the front as a guide. The top section I’ll paint aquamarine, the middle section white, and the bottom section fuschia.

Now that the crate is painted and dry we are ready for stamping! I found the cutest summer stamps at Dollar Tree, along with some alphabet and number stamps too! I’ll be using these on an acrylic stamping block that I found at Hobby Lobby.

I’ll use the smaller alphabet stamps to add “sweet” and “time” above and below the “SUMMER” stamp. I LOVE the different fonts!!

Finally, we can add the finishing touch using the torn material strips. This is turning out so darned cute!!

Now we’ll take a long strip of torn material and tie it around the end of the crate. I’ll use a thin line of hot glue on the front and back side to hold the material in place.

Tie the material into a knot and then add more strips and tie those in the center as well. Trim the ends to the desired length. This easy Dollar Tree Mini Crate Summer DIY is so cute and now I think I need to make more!! How about one for every occasion?

I love the bright colors on this piece because they are perfect for summer!! If you enjoy bright and cheery summer DIYs be sure to check out this fun piece and let me know what you think!
