Risers are a staple in my home decor and there’s nothing I like better than finding fun ways to create them!! This DIY begins with a Dollar Tree 14″ X 11″ wood frame that I purchased for $3.00 on the Dollar Tree Plus Aisle. I’ll also be using a leopard print stencil to give the top a pretty finish and some hot glue to add detail on the sides. Let’s see how all the details come together to create a DIY Dollar Tree wood riser with leopard print!

What I’m Using…
- Dollar Tree 14″ X 11″ wood frame
- Hot Glue
- Silicone Mold
- Hobby Lobby snowmen or other wood pieces to use as feet
- Ivory Chalk Paint
- Distress Ink
- E-6000
- Leopard Print Stencil
- Gray paste
On a side note, If you’re not able to find the Hobby Lobby Snowmen there are several options for feet. Hobby Lobby carries all kinds of different sized wood knobs as well.

First, I want to attach four snowmen to the bottom of the tray, one in each corner. You can use either side of the sign, but since I’m adding a finish to the top I didn’t want the “lip” that would be created using the underside. I’m choosing to use E-6000 to attach the snowman “feet.”

Once the glue is set, I’ll paint the top, underside, and feet with Waverly Ivory chalk paint.

Now that I have the tray painted I’m wondering about some side detail and I think some hot glue molds would work perfectly. I have a mold that I LOVE, so I’ll give it a try!!

When the molds are ready I’ll just cut them down to fit the sides and then hot glue them on.

Once the glue molds have been glued on all sides I’ll paint over the molds with the same Waverly Ivory paint.

The leopard print detail…
Next, it’s time to add the leopard print to the top and I’m using a stencil I purchased from Amazon and gray paste.

Lastly, to finish the look of this DIY Dollar Tree Wood Riser with Leopard Print I’ll add some black Distress Ink to the sides and legs.

I really enjoyed this DIY and I LOVE adding leopard print to my decor so win, win!! I’d love to know what you think and if you enjoy adding different prints to your decor as much as I do!!
