I may be a little late to the party on this one, but I want to give this gingerbread wreath a try and I found the perfect little houses at Dollar Tree to complete the project. I can’t wait to get this one finished and displayed for Christmas! Let’s get started on this gingerbread house wreath DIY!

This project starts with a 24 inch Walmart wreath that I purchased for around $17.00. You could easily repurpose a wreath you already have for this project.

Now, besides the wreath I’ll also be using 6-8 of these plastic ornaments from Dollar General. I’ll remove the jute hangers and greenery from the front and then use spray paint to make them all a uniform color in a color called Down to Earth by Rust-Oleum. The greenery and glue will pop off easily to make a quick transition.

Next, I’ll add some white and glitter to the roof of each house. Once the paint is dry I’ll be ready to attach the houses onto the wreath with hot glue to create the gingerbread house wreath DIY.

Then, add some bottle brush trees and secure with glue. Dollar Tree and Dollar General are great places to pick up inexpensive bottle brush trees.

This wreath would look pretty with or without snow don’t you think? I love it like, this but decided to give the snow a try.

Finally, add some spray snow to the whole wreath. I can the houses have too much snow coverage, so I’ll brush them off with a paint brush. The gingerbread house wreath DIY is all finished and ready to display!

What happened to the plastic ornaments? You used wooden houses in the final wreath.
