Have you shopped Dollar General for Valentine’s Day? They have some cute items, some even cheaper than Dollar Tree! I picked up these $3.00 metal hearts with a fun idea in mind, so let’s get started on this DIY Dollar General Valentine hearts make-over!!

First of all, I want to paint these hearts and maybe change their positioning so I’ll use pliers to twist the wires on the back and take everything apart.

I’ll add Waverly white chalk paint first, and then add fuchcia polka dots using Crafter’s Collection Fuchsia from Hobby Lobby. Add some black accent marks to each polka dot to finish up.

Next, I’ll paint the love arrow with my favorite gold spray paint to brighten it up. I’ll use E-6000 to help hold everything in place and then wire it back together.

Now I need to fill in the hole that you can see in the picture above. I decided to use some spackling to fill it in and then just painted over it. I think it turned out so sweet and not bad for $3.00 make-over!!

Finally, I added some torn material strips to the top along with a metal key from Hobby Lobby. I think it adds just the perfect touch! Let me know if you try this DIY Dollar General Valentine Hearts Make-Over!!
