Each and every holiday the Dollar Tree puts out their shiny collection of mesh in various colors and each and every holiday I miss my opportunity to use it. Not this time though! I grabbed a roll of red, white, and blue mesh, along with a bicycle wheel wreath to create a festive Dollar Tree patriotic wreath DIY!! Let’s get started!!

Dollar Tree Supplies…
- Dollar Tree mesh in red, white, and blue
- Dollar Tree bicycle wheel wreath
- Pipe Cleaners (I’m using red and white.)
- Ribbon
- Wood Stars
- Blue Spray Paint

First of all I’m painting the bicycle wheel wreath blue since I’ll only be covering half of it. Once the spray paint is dry I’m ready to start attaching the pipe cleaners and mesh.
Prepping the mesh…
Next up I’ll be cutting all the mesh into approximately 6 inch sections. I’ll go ahead and cut all three rolls up and set them aside for use as I work on the wreath.

Now that the mesh is cut, I’ll go ahead and cut some pipe cleaners into smaller sections so I can easily grab them to work with. I’m twisting the pipe cleaner around the wreath form first, and then adding the mesh that I’ve rolled up. I’ll twist three to four pieces of mesh together and then attach them with the pipe cleaner.

Next, I’ll start alternating between the red, white, and blue mesh. I’m also adding some striped wire ribbon to my blue mesh.

Now I’ll just work my way around until I have about half of the wheel covered.

A few last details…
We need a little extra pop and of course this patriotic piece needs some stars! You can find these at Hobby Lobby or Dollar Tree. I’ll paint them white and then glue them to the ends of that striped ribbon.

Finally finished and ready for the front door and I love this Dollar Tree Patriotic Wreath DIY!! What do you think?? I think it’s a fun and budget friendly way too to add a festive touch for the fourth!
