I thought this Dollar General flip sign was sweet, but it didn’t really go with my summer vibe. I just loved it though, so I decided I could easily add my own touch and create a Dollar General flip sign makeover! Let’s add some fun summer elements to this little sign and make it reversible!

Let’s get started!!
First up we need to take the sign apart and paint everything (including both sides of sign) white with Waverly Chalk paint.

Now I’m using two of my favorite napkins to decoupage each side of the flip sign. I’ll be using the Mod Podge and iron on method. I LOVE this method and here’s another way to use a fun watermelon napkin!!

Such a simple process but what a difference!!
Adding a bow…
I’m keeping this Dollar General Flip sign makeover super simple by creating a ripped material bow for each side. I have some Dollar Tree wood cutouts that can be used for lemon or watermelon, so I’ll be painting these and adding one to the center of each bow.

I’ll stack my ribbon and secure in the middle with a piece of jute string. Trim up the ends and hot glue the wood slice in the center to finish up! I’m not even adding words to this one, letting the pretty napkins do all the talking!!

All finished and ready to use in my summer decor, watermelon OR lemons!! What do you think? This is a great reminder to never overlook a great piece that doesn’t quite match because you can always add your touch to make it perfect!!
