Easy Paint Stir Stick Spring Sign

Hey friend!! I LOVE to work with an easy and inexpensive canvas and paint stir sticks are just that!! I use paint stir sticks often, and this time I’m creating something FUN for spring, an easy paint stir stick spring sign times two for my mantle.

The surface…

For the surface I’m using 5 gallon paint stir sticks. I’ll need three packages (there are 3 sticks per package) to create two carrot signs. I’ll use a Miter saw to cut the handle from each stick. Use wood glue to adhere three sticks together and then glue a 4″ inch section of paint stick to the top and bottom of the sign.

Once the glue is dry the surface can be stained or painted. I’ll be using my favorite stain, Minwax Espresso.

The carrots…

For the carrots I’ll be using scrapbook paper and I’m just sketching out a carrot shape on the back of the paper and cutting it out. Hobby Lobby has some really fun patterned paper in orange.

I’ll use Mod Podge to apply the carrot to the surface of this easy paint stir stick spring sign.

For the top I’m using some greenery that I removed from a damaged(thanks to the puppy stage)Hobby Lobby carrot. I’ll just hot glue it on along with salvaged orange string.

The last thing I’ll do is add a simple ribbon bow. If you LOVE carrots from spring as much as me, be sure to see how easy it was to create these piping bag carrots!!
