Spring is coming and I love to add bright and cheerful pieces to my home when the days get longer and warmer!! This little bunny comes from Dollar Tree, and with a little paint and ribbon it will be a fun addition to the front porch!! Come on in and let me show you how to create this easy Dollar Tree spring bunny door hanger!!

What you’ll need….
Dollar Tree Bunny
Ribbon
Paint
Wood letters
Dollar Tree carrot
Hot glue

The first thing to do is create stripes by drawing lines with a pencil one inch apart on the surface of the bunny.

Once the lines are drawn paint can be added. Use whatever paint colors you’d like.

Keep in mind that when you sand, distress, and wax the stripes they will be muted and less bright.

Once the paint is completely dry, use a Black Sharpie to trace back over the pencil lines.

You can touch up any areas of paint you’d like, but the sanding and waxing will do a great job covering the imperfections.

Next up I want to add “HELLO” and I’ll be using wood letters from Hobby Lobby. I’m using the same antiquing wax on the letters and then gluing them down.

Finishing up, I’ll add a bow using some pretty ribbon and a small Dollar Tree carrot, along with a jute hanger.

How stinkin’ cute are these little carrots from Dollar Tree??? I’ll paint one up and add it to the center of my bow!!

Hot glue the bow to the top of the bunny and then add the carrot to the center.

The last thing I’m doing to this Dollar Tree spring bunny door hanger is adding a jute string in the holes and simply tying a few knots in the end so it will hold in place.

I’ve fallen in love with this little guy and can’t wait to hang him out front!! What do you think? Let me know if you’ll be giving him a try!!! If you enjoyed this spring tutorial, be sure to see another one of my favorites here!!
