I know it’s just February, but I have spring fever and the Spring DIY projects are on my mind!! This little scrap wood Easter bunny sign is super easy and just too cute not to share! And nothing says spring like a bunny, right?!?

The first thing you’ll need is a scrap piece of wood. I grabbed a piece from the shop and gave it a light sanding before spraying the front and sides with flat black spray paint.

After the spray paint is completely dry you will add your bunny. I’ll use a vinyl bunny I cut with my Cricut. Once I apply my vinyl bunny I’ll be ready to add a coat of white paint. I used acrylic paint from Hobby Lobby. It will take about four coats, depending on how much coverage you desire. This takes a little time because you need to allow dry time between each coat.

Now that the paint has completely dried, it’s time to remove the vinyl. If the acrylic paint bled onto the bunny shape it can be easily wiped off with a damp paper towel.

We are finally ready for the finishing touches!! I’ll add a bow to the neck and a pom for the tail by using a dab of hot glue.

Now, for a more distressed look I’ll use a sanding block to distress the edges. I’m really happy with the way this little guy turned out! This little scrap wood Easter bunny will be perfect sitting on a shelf or in a vignette!! What do you think??
