By now you’ve probably seen the Dollar Tree pumpkins, some orange and some white. I picked up a few and decided to use one of them to create something neutral for Halloween. This is an EASY Dollar Tree pumpkin make-over using an inexpensive Dollar Tree pumpkin!
This is an easy make-over and you’ll need a Dollar Tree pumpkin, paint, ribbon, Spanish moss, and a stick from the back yard. I did add some spackling to my pumpkin to add some texture, but this pumpkin could be created without it.

I covered the pumpkin with the spackling and allowed it to dry overnight. The next day I sanded it and then painted it black with Waverly chalk paint in Ink.

Next I’ll use my craft blade to remove the stem. This pumpkin is hollow inside, so be sure to leave a little of the styrofoam intact to glue your other stem to. I’ll be using a stick from the backyard for the stem, dry brushing it with a little white chalk paint.

Before I insert the stick, I’ll paint “BOO” on the front using white chalk paint. I tried attaching vinyl but it didn’t work well so I decided to use paint.

Finally I’m using hot glue to attach the stick and some Spanish moss on top.

I’ll finish this Dollar Tree pumpkin make-over with a pretty bow made from neutral gray ribbon with polka dots! I’ll use hot glue to attach it to the top of the pumpkin. So simple, but I love the subtleness of this piece!! If you’re looking for more fall decor ideas this one is budget friendly AND so cute!!
