Let’s hear it for the clearance aisle and a GREAT clearance find!! This project begins with one of those finds, a $1.00 sign that I’m making over for Christmas!! I have something simple, but pretty in mind that I can use anywhere I choose to add a little bit of Christmas. Come join me as I work on this simple makeover Merry Christmas sign and let me show you how easy it is!!
First things first…
To begin, I’ll gather my clearance sign, some scrapbook paper, and a wooden “Merry Christmas” cutout from Hobby Lobby.

This one is really simple friends and the first thing to do is cut a square of paper to fit inside the frame. I’m using adhesive squares to attach.

Next up I’m painting the “Merry Christmas” cutout white and then attaching a piece of corrugated paper behind it. Just trace, cut, and glue!! The corrugated paper is from Hobby Lobby as well.

Now just simply glue this piece to the sign. I already love the simplicity of this little sign, but let’s add a little color to the top!!

This little sprig came from Walmart and I’ll just cut it apart and hot glue to the top of the wood cutout ornament.

Once it’s glued in place, this simple makeover Merry Christmas sign is all finished!! How easy was that?? Can you believe this started out as a clearance piece?!? Need more ideas? Here’s another fun way to create using a clearance sign!!
