Hey, hey friends!! Not too long ago I shared with you how many of the white artificial eggs I had picked up at a garage sale. You can also buy these at Walmart for $1.98 per dozen. These are just so many things you can do with these eggs guys!! Today I want to try one more, cabbage dyeing Easter eggs!!

The first thing you will need to do is coarsely chop a head of red cabbage and add it to 5 cups of water in a pot. Bring it to a boil and then simmer for about 45 minutes. Allow the cabbage to completely cool and then strain the water. Discard the cabbage and add 4 tablespoons of white vinegar to the water.

I’ll add three eggs first into a bowl with the purple water. These eggs will not sink into the water, so I’ll put a bowl on top to hold them under the liquid.

I’ll leave this first batch of eggs in the liquid for one hour.

You can see that the eggs have a light blue hue after one hour in the liquid. Next, I’ll add more eggs, but leave them in the liquid for four hours this time.
After four hours in the liquid, there really was not much difference in color from the the one hour eggs. I decide to try leaving some eggs in the liquid overnight in the refrigerator to see if the color will darken. I also have frozen blueberries on hand so I’m going to follow the same process with them and leave eggs in the blueberry liquid overnight too!! I’m excited to see what happens!
Let’s See What Happened!!

The eggs in the cabbage liquid darkened a little, but you guys, look at the eggs from the blueberry liquid!! Please ignore my terrible writing, it was early and I was tired guys!! LOL!

I love the color and how much contrast there is between shades of color on the eggs! Leaving the eggs overnight in the liquid is best, even if it is hard to be patient that long!! I think I’m in love with cabbage dyeing Easter eggs!!

I just love the different color hues and can’t wait to use these in my decor! The muted colors are perfect for my color scheme! This was a such a fun little DIY and I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did!! As always, thanks for stopping by friends and I’ll see ya next time!!
