Do you ever over buy for your seasonal DIY projects or is it just me?? I always seem to overestimate the amount of time I have to do ALL the crafts!! And, because I do this, I often find all the makings of the cutest DIYs after the holiday has already passed! But this time I have an idea to turn the cutest little Dollar Tree Christmas truck into a Dollar Tree Valentine hanger!!
Let’s Get Started!!
The first thing I nee to do is remove the Christmas tree and I find that it can easily be pulled loose from the back.
After the tree is removed I just need to sand “Merry Christmas” off of the truck.
Now I just need to add some paint to my truck, but I want to leave the tires black so I just cover them and then add a coat of spray paint.
The next thing I want to do is add some hearts to the back of the truck. I have these hearts on hand from Hobby Lobby so I use one small and one large. I add some buffalo check scrapbook paper (of course!!) to the large heart and paint the small heart a lighter shade of pink.
After my hearts are finished I use hot glue to attach them to the back of the truck. I have some chipboard letters on hand and use those to put “XOXO” on the front of the truck. I paint them white and glue them on. You could easily use stickers to do this as well.
I’m almost finished, I just need to add a simple little bow to the front of the truck. I hot glue a little chipboard heart to the center of my bow and then hot glue it to the truck. It is so easy, but super cute!!
I think it turned out so cute and I was able to use supplies I already had on hand!! And, the bonus is that I was able to use this little Christmas truck to make this Dollar Tree Valentine hanger!!
