Watermelon Wedge Summer Banner DIY – Word & Home

This little Watermelon Wedge Summer Banner turned out so sweet and it’s perfect for summer home decor! It can be painted OR decoupaged with your favorite paper and I’m choosing to combine pretty red and pink!

First I’ll give each wedge a couple of coats of this Apple Barrel Red Apple paint.

Next, I’ll add some fun polka dots using this Bubble Gum pink paint and a Dollar Tree pouncer.

Now I’ll add two shades of green for the rind. The first color I’ll use is this Shamrock green.

Then I’ll add stripes of a lighter green, the Spring Green.

Finally, I’ll use black paint to add some black accents to each watermelon wedge and paint the seeds too.

Now I’ll finish the watermelon wedge summer banner by gluing three seeds to the top of each one. Then I’ll use a strip of tea stained material to string the wedges together to create a banner.

I decided last minute to add some rick rack to the bottom of each wedge and I love how it turned out!! What do you think? If you’d like to give one of these banners a try be sure to click here to shop my store.
