Christmas is on the way and this year I’m adding Christmas to my home, all the way to the mailbox!! I loved the idea of having lights on the mailbox but not crazy about using an extension cord. Dollar Tree gave me the perfect solution with these solar Christmas bulbs!! Let me show you how to create this easy Dollar Tree Christmas mailbox.
First things first, here are those cute solar lights I picked up at Dollar Tree!! I grabbed three!
These lights are pretty but I wanted a little extra somethin’ so I’m using Mog Podge and glitter to add some sparkle.
Once glittered I’ll set the lights aside to dry and then take them outside to spray with a glue adhesive. I leave them outside for an hour or two to dry completely. This helps keep the glitter intact better. Now I’m ready to attach them to my garland.
Putting everything together…
I picked up some garland at Walmart and the pretty bells at Hobby Lobby. I’m using zip ties to attach the bells and lights to the garland to create this easy Dollar Tree Christmas mail box.
I’m cutting my bells apart and then zip tying one bell and one light onto the garland. I’ll do this three time running down the length of my garland. I should add that I cut my garland in half for this project.
I used screws in the mailbox to attach the garland with more zip ties. Seriously, how handy are plastic zip ties??? And that’s it!! Now my mailbox is decked out for Christmas too!! Everything looks pretty during the day, and the solar lights glow at night!! What do you think??
