Mini Faux Caramel Apples – Word & Home

These mini caramel apples are so fun for fall and make the cutest addition to your fall coffee bar or hot chocolate station! I grabbed a whole package of mini faux apples from Hobby Lobby and a few other goodies to create these cuties.

List of Supplies….

First up mix the paint and Mod Podge together using equal parts, such as one-fourth a cup of paint and one-fourth cup of Mod Podge. Insert the sharp end of the pop stick into the apple, carefully pushing it all the way in. To prevent the stick from going through the bottom of the apple I suggest leaving the apple on a hard flat surface when inserting the stick.

Next, dip the apple into the paint mixture getting the coverage you want. Hold the apple over the bowl for a few minutes to allow excess paint to drip off. Be patient with this part as it will take a few minutes. The apple will need to sit for an hour to an hour and a half on wax paper to allow the paint to dry down. I like to move the apples to a new piece of wax paper after an hour which will leave the excess paint behind on the old paper.

Finally, faux sprinkles can be added for color or cat litter to look like chopped nuts. Once this is done set the apple back on wax paper to dry down for a few hours or overnight. Add pretty bows to complete these mini faux caramel apples.
