Easy Material Strip Flowers – Word & Home

This quick DIY is a fun and festive one that can be used for any holiday or season AND it incorporates cardboard and your favorite printed material. This easy material strip flowers tutorial is quick AND budget friendly too!

43 inch material folded in half three times

First, I’ll prepare the material strips by tearing them to 43 inches long. I’ll fold this length in half, then in half a second time, and finally a third time.

Next, I’ll be tracing a circle onto cardboard and cutting it out. I’ll use a larger bottle of paint to trace but anything in your craft stash can be used. My circle will be about 2 inches in size.

Next, I’ll glue the folded fabric strip onto the cardboard circle. A little glue may have to be added to the top to hold the material in place. Add a second folded material strip on top of this one going in opposite directions.

Finally, a second smaller cardboard circle will be needed on top. It will be covered with a blue polka dot material.

Now it’s finished and that’s all there is to it! Change the size of the cardboard circles and shorten the material strips to create smaller flowers.

Now these easy material strip flowers can be used on signs, in dough bowls, or any other way you can think of. I’d love to know your favorite way to use them in your projects!
