First, I’ll attach the styrofoam balls together with a toothpick and then add eyes, nose, and mouth made from the end of a toothpick. I’ll use a stylus to create the eyes and mouth.

adding a snowman face to styrofoam balls

Once the paint on the face is completely dry I’ll start adding Mod Podge and then the glitter and snow. It takes a little longer to work with the snow by pressing it on and allowing the Mod Podge to dry down a bit.

Now the snow I’m using is a little chunky so once applied I sprayed the snowman with adhesive glue and let that dry down a bit before pressing in down a bit more with my fingers. It’s not complete coverage but it gives the snowman a fluffier look.

creating a felt hat

Next I’ll make a felt hat and attach it to the top of the snowman’s head, adding some greenery and snow around the edges.

Finally I’ll add the strip of material for a scarf and then it’s time to add the snowman to the top of the cup by attaching with glue to secure.

  1. Thank you very much for the cute snowman instructions, which are very detailed and easy to follow. We are in FL and don’t get much snow, so we “fake” it with home deco. Thank you and Happy Holidays
