What you’ll need…
- Dollar General Wood Round
- Hobby Lobby Scrapbook Paper (The Paper Studio Christmas Plaid)
- Wood Letters J and Y (Mine came from Hobby Lobby.)
- Mod Podge
- Paint
- Strip of Material ( 8 1/2″ X 10″)
- Hot Glue
- Craft Stick
- Wire
This one is going to be so darned cute!! First off I’m going to adhere the scrapbook paper to my letters using Mod Podge and the iron on method. You can use a large iron for this part, just set it on a lower heat setting and use parchment paper.

Next, brush the Mod Podge on both letters and allow to completely dry.

Use an iron to reactivate the Mod Podge causing the paper to adhere to the wood letter.

Now cut off excess paper and then sand edges.

Drill a hole in the top of each letter for hanging.

Creating the snowman…
Now we’ll move on to painting the snowman onto the wood slice. I’m using white, black, pink, and orange paint.

Adding a hat…
Now it’s time to add a hat and our easy DIY JOY snowman hanger will be finished. I’m using a material section approximately 8 1/2″ X 10″.

Next, hot glue the material on the front and back of the wood slice.

Now gather the material and pull down to the front. Glue a white pom pom to the tip of the material.

Now we’re ready to attach everything with hot glue. I’m also using a craft stick to attach to the back for support.

Finally, when the glue is dry it’s time to add the wire.
