Fall decor is starting to show up on the Dollar Tree shelves and I snagged three small pumpkins to glam up for the season! My inspiration for this particular project comes from some pretty gold and white pumpkins I spotted online for $49.99, so pretty but more than I want to spend. Let’s see if we can create some DIY glam Dollar Tree pumpkins using some spray paint, chalk paint, and these three Dollar Tree pumpkins.

I really fell in love with the look of these pumpkins but that price tag…ouch!! I think we can create something similar using faux pumpkins, gold spray paint, and Ivory Waverly chalk paint.

Let’s start by removing the tags and spraying each of the three pumpkins with this pretty Rustoleum Metallic spray paint in gold. This gold is just beautiful!!

Now I’m ready to add the Ivory chalk paint and I’m starting with the creases on the pumpkins. I’m using a small paint brush to add a thin line of paint to each crease.

I tried a couple of methods to brush on more paint and blend, including using a wet cloth. The method I decided worked best was brushing on the paint as shown above, and then with a clean paint brush spreading the wet paint onto the rest of the pumpkin. I wanted the gold to still show through, and just soft brushes of the Ivory paint like you see below.

I’m so happy with these DIY glam Dollar Tree pumpkins and the gold really adds a pop! Group them together in a bowl or on a tray for an eye catching fall display! Let me know what you think and if you love Dollar Tree make-overs as much as I do!!
