So I LOVE old spindles and anything created with them!! How about you? So when I spotted this silicone mold on Amazon I knew exactly how I wanted to use it. I think these molds look a lot like a smaller version of the spindles that I love, so we’re going to try our hand at an easy hot glue spindle tree hack!!

We’re going to use hot glue along with this mold to create some “spindle” looking creations that we’ll easily turn into a tree!! So easy and people will never guess it’s hot glue!! Let’s start by adding hot glue to each mold. I found that my glue gun needed to be really hot in order for the glue to be hot enough to spread and fill the molds easily.
Let’s add some paint…
You can paint the hot glue spindles ANY color you like!! I’m using the Waverly chalk paint in Celery for this project.
While the paint is still wet I’ll sprinkle on a little of my favorite glitter.
Once you have all you pieces painted and glittered you’re ready to attach them to a surface in order to create a tree. I’m using a Dollar Tree wood piece and I’ll have to cut my pieces down a bit to fit, but that can easily be done with scissors.
Paint the Dollar Tree piece with white chalk paint and add distress ink on the sides.
Now you’re ready to start gluing the pieces, beginning with the longest piece for the bottom and shortening the sections as you go up.
For the base of the tree I found a wood angel from Dollar Tree that I’ll use. Remove the paper wings, paint, and then add a little distress ink.
Such an easy hack and I love the result!! Let me know what you think!! If you love making Christmas trees be sure to come see how I made one using something from the back yard!!
