No one loves pumpkins as much me, but did you know there’s another fall staple? I’ll give you some hints; apple cobbler, apple pie, and even apple crisp!! They are so delicious, but sometimes I forget how cute they can be for fall! I found these cute apple cutouts at Dollar Tree and thought they’d be perfect for a Dollar Tree caramel apple sign DIY!!

Prepping the apples…
These apples are the cutest, but I’m removing the stem/leaf top for this project. I’m just using a craft blade and snips to remove.

Now I’ll add some paint. I’ve chosen a FolkArt Lime Green but you could use any color of red or green for this.

Adding the faux caramel…
I want to add some faux caramel to these apples and I’m going to do that by combining Mod Podge with FolkArt Raw Sienna paint. When mixing the two you want a consistency that will run a little, but not a lot.

This mixture will be a little thicker once applied, so it will take a little bit to dry. Notice the Mod Podge gives the faux caramel a nice shine.

Next up these apples need some sprinkles so I’m using the plastic loom bands from Walmart. I’ve chosen white and orange and I’ll simply be cutting them up into smaller pieces with my scissors. You could drop these pieces into the faux caramel before it dries, but I’ll be using glue to attach them.

Apply the glue and ten use a paint brush to evenly spread it out. Then just sprinkle on the pieces. I covered the holes since I wouldn’t be using them.

Allow the glue to completely dry and then hot glue a cute bow onto each stick.

Pulling everything together…
Now that the apples are finished, we are ready to attach them to a base to make a sign. For the base I’m using a Dollar Tree wood piece that I’ve stained.

I want to add “apples” and attach it as well, so I’m using a strip of material and stamps for this part.

Finally we are ready to glue everything on to finish this Dollar Tree caramel apple sign DIY. I’m using hot glue for this part.
