How to Make Glittered Egg Bunnies

If you’re perusing the Walmart Easter aisle and come across the dyeable eggs go ahead and do yourself a favor and buy them!! I promise, you can use them ALL YEAR!! I first created with these eggs at Christmas and I was addicted!! A snowman was first, and he’s so cute I leave him out, even in August!! So, you know I had to try my hand for spring and create a bunny, glittered of course. Join me friend as I show you how to make glittered egg bunnies!!

We have to start with eggs of course, and these are the ones I use from Walmart. They are a $1.98, which isn’t a bad price, but if you ever find them on clearance buy as many as you can!! Don’t believe me? Here’s another idea using them!!

Since these eggs will be transformed into the cutest little bunnies, we’ll need two holes in the top for ears. I use my craft blade to “drill” two holes in the top. There is a line all the way around the egg that I like to use as a guide when making my holes.

Next, paint the egg the color of your choice. I’m using Waverly Ballerina Pink.

Bunny Ears…

We’ll create ears using a white pipe cleaner. Fold it in half and cut into two pieces. Form each piece into a bunny ear shape and twist the bottom ends together to secure.

Insert each ear into a hole on top of the egg and secure with hot glue.

Adding a face…

Next, I’m using a black thin tip marker to add a face. Don’t worry if it seems too dark. We’ll be adding glitter and it will soften the features.

Now it’s time to add Mod Modge and glitter. Cover the egg completely with a thin layer of Mod Podge and then add glitter. I’ll add glitter to the ears as well, but this step is optional.

Glittery Goodness…

Once the bunny is completely glittered, we’ll add some flowers to the top! I’m using these from Hobby Lobby. Isn’t this the sweetest little glittered egg bunny?
